ZEAL WHEELS WITH ART PRINT FROM MENNO ANKER FOR CYCLING FOR KIDS - CAMERIG44 chARiTy
Press Release May 2019:
With the idea "Make your bike faster, your wall nicer and children happier", ZEAL Cycling has put together a special offer.
Inspired by the challenges of the Amstel Gold Race, ZEAL Cycling has developed the CAMERIG44wheel set as an "Aero Allrounder". In the hilly landscape of Limburg in the Netherlands, the course of the race offers neither high mountains nor long sections for classic rouleurs. Nevertheless, it is very challenging, hence perfect for all-rounders. One of the numerous hills of the Amstel is the Camerig, which finally provided the name idea for the wheel set with its eye-catching, characteristic Kamm-Tail shape.
But not only ZEAL was inspired by the Camerig. Menno Anker, artist, designer and passionate road cyclist also wanted to get to know the climb better after talking to the founders of ZEAL at a trade show. "It was the half-timbered houses along the way, the blue sky and the typical green grasslands of the German-Dutch border region that inspired me". This is how the mastermind behind the Cycling Poster Label Grand Depart describes the characteristically, abstract image of the Camerig.
With the special edition CAMERIG44chARiTy, ZEAL now offers a package consisting of CAMERIG44or CAMERIG44 Disc wheels and a 50 x 70 cm Giclée print on fine acid-free and handmade original Hahnemühle Fineart paper (300 g).
The usual selling price for the art print is € 99.-, but in the package the price only increases by € 50.-, which will finally be donated to Cycling for Kids.
"When we talked with Menno about a collaboration, it was immediately clear that the combination of product and art should also have a social purpose," the ZEAL founders Roland ten Brinke & Daniel Bley explain. "Menno shares his very individual view of "our mountain" with us and we are lucky that we can share our great experiences after every trip on the Camerig. That's why we decided to share our earnings with children who aren't doing that well".
With campaigns such as Everesting, a Charity Gravel Ride or Spinning Marathons, the Cycling for Kids association collects money for ill children and their families. "We are happy that ZEAL likes our idea of combining the passion for cycling with help for children," says Marco Bastiaansen (initiator of Cycling for Kids e.V.).
